Thanksgiving Friday: What I Am Thankful For This Week

It's Thanksgiving Friday everyone and that means the weekend. Who is excited?

Thankful that I was able to attend the Vogue and Dior Beauty Masterclass

Continuing with the Events and the Comfort Zone theme, I signed up for another event which took place this week, in fact yesterday. Vogue teamed up with Dior to arrange a beauty masterclass (which I desperately needed, as some of you know) at their Convent Garden Boutique.

This was another awkward situation for me. When you are alone, it is overwhelming at first but once the nerves settled down, you start to enjoy the occasion and have a good time.

We got beauty tips from Dior's make up artist Jamie Coombes, makeovers, drinks and also a make up goody bag to attempt the look at home.

At first, I was nervous but when it was time to leave, I had a big fat smile on my face. A big Thank You to Liam from Dior, who helped me with my make over and helped me with my purchases.

Eating Macaroons has t be the highlight of my thanksgiving Friday

My biggest achievement this week was eating MACAROONS. This is massive, let's appreciate this mega achievement of mine. they taste de-li-cious.

I never in my wildest dream though that I will be eating Macaroons. This is one of the things that you dream of doing but when the dream turns into a reality, you don't know how to react? (do you understand what I mean??)

I was over the moon and ate not 1 but 2 macaroons. I am beyond thankful for having the opportunity to taste this delicious cookies.

Thankful that the Sun finally decided to shine

If you live in Britain, you know that the Sun always play hide and seek with us. It was so exciting to finally see him come out of his shell and shine so bright.

This week I challenged my comfort level and I couldn't be more happy with the results and what I have achieved. I'm thankful, I had the opportunity to attend the beauty masterclass and eat the macaroons and enjoy the beautiful sunshine.

What are your highlights and what are you thankful for this week?

Thanksgiving Friday: What I Am Thankful For This Week

It's Thanksgiving Friday everyone. As you know by now, every Friday I post about the positive things/incidents that happened throughout the week, to help motivate each other through our bad/difficult times.

Here is what I am thankful for this week

Keeping the people of Ukraine in prayers this Thanksgiving Friday

As you may know, there is a massive protest going on in Kiev, Ukraine and so many people have lost and continue to lose their lives. Let us keep them in our prayers.

While I was travelling yesterday, I saw a man holding a poster which read "Ukraine Is On Fire". It is sad to see what is going on in the world. There is no PEACE.

I am thankful that I'm still alive. We should be thankful that we got to see today and do all the things that we did.

Attended London Fashion Weekend

For the second time in a row, I got the chance to go to London Fashion Weekend. The catwalk shows and watching people dress up in colourful clothes is the highlight for me.

If you are into Fashion or Beauty, you must attend the London Fashion Weekend. You get the chance to watch catwalk shows and even experience the FROW if you are lucky.

I am thankful that i got to eat such a delicious cake

I was reporting live from a birthday party and tweeting all the food photos, feeding information to Noor from Noor's Place (Noor and her sister Areeba are the funniest sisters I have ever met)

They are not keeping well at the moment. Please could you comment on their posts and wish them a speedy recovery? You can have a slice of this beautiful cake as a thank you. Don't forget to tell them that I sent you.

I am thankful that I got to eat the delicious cake and the food (there was a lot of food. I'm not lying; check my twitter pictures for proof)

Thankful that i saw Frank Lampard

Last but not the least, I met saw the famous footballer "Frank Lampard". I am doing well, aren't I? He is handsome and has a lovely smile. Sorry the image is not clear. I had to zoom in on my iPhone

Never thought in my wildest dreams, I will get the chance to see celebrities/footballer or even watch a catwalk show. I am thankful to have witnessed these events and most of all enjoy them.

How was your week? Do you have anything to be thankful for?

I Went Out Of My Comfort Zone: Attending #BrizBlogMeet

Attending Briz Blog Meet was out of my Comfort Zone

One of my blogging goals this year is to go for blogger meets or events so I can meet other bloggers. This is completely out of my 'Comfort Zone' but I want to be bold and do things that I have never done before or at least try my best. Keeping this goal in mind, I signed up for Briz Blog Meet up.

As soon as I emailed Emily (who organised the Briz Blog Meet together with her boyfriend Phil) I started doubting my decision. I was excited but more nervous.

Even yesterday (2nd March) I wasn't sure whether to attend or skip the event. I gathered courage (Weather played a key rol, it was bright and sunny) as it was time for me to break the Comfort Zone and do something that I normally wouldn't do.

Thanksgiving Friday & Reader Spotlight

Our lives are full of ups and downs and we always seem to dwell on the negative or bad things and the good incidents or the positive things seem to take a back seat.

This is the reason I started the Thanksgiving Friday series. Why not take the time and put the spotlight on the good things that happened during the week and be thankful for all the positive vibes and the good energy. Let us take the time and be thankful for the situations or the people who brought a smile on our face.

Thankful that I was able to visit Westminster Cathedral on my Birthday

Some of you will know that I celebrated my birthday on Monday (yes, i am getting old). I am thankful that I am still alive and was able to spend the day with my loved ones. I also got the chance to go to Westminster Cathedral and take part in the Mass celebration which is very important to me.

There are so many people who are not so fortunate or who are lonely and have nobody to celebrate their birthday with. I am grateful that I got to witness the day.

Thankful that I was able to walk in this shoes

You all know that I attended London Fashion Weekend by now. I was debating whether to wear these boots.

I lasted 8 hours in this heels. When I first wore them, I walked for 15 minutes and my feet started hurting. I took a risk and decided to wear them and to my surprise they were comfortable to walk. Thank God that the shoes did not cut my day short like last time.

Thankful that I finally got a Laptop

I got a Laptop. Finally. It was about time. My old one is resting in peace and I broke my brother's laptop.

Blogging was getting difficult and I had to go to internet cafe to write my posts and upload the pics. I am so thankful that I have a new laptop and nobody is allowed to touch the Apple, not even my brother whose laptop I broke (being ruthless, I know :D)

Thank you for your suggestions. Shayne, please thank your boyfriend for researching and helping me with this.

Did anything good happen to you during this week that you would like to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving Friday?

Reader Spotlight

It's the 28th today which means end of February and I did not want to compromise on the Thanksgiving Friday post, decided to combine them both.

Time to shift the spotlight on my readers (You can read my blog updates to find out what I'm talking about)

Naaj sweetheart, I am so sorry you are dealing with this. It breaks my heart but i know you are strong.

I once heard a lady suffering from sickle cell disease say, "The doctors only treat the symptoms of my disease and not the cure. So i have taken it upon myself to research on it by getting to know my body and figuring out what is good for me to stay healthy. I haven't felt any better since then. I feel great." You can't come this far to give up now. Get up every morning, step outside and breathe. Do the things you love doing the most. The things that make you happy and put a smile on your pretty face. When you are feeling down, go for walks or drives to ares that cheer you up. Rent movies you love (I will recommend "Love Actually").
Go to a coffee shop and have a sit while you people watch. Find a way to love life again. Take it one day at a time my dear and remember it is up to you to stay healthy. It is the simple things in life....Do it with someone if you can. Some people pray for what we take for granted.
You will be okay Naaj, I promise. You have life and that means thee is definitely hope. Please stay in touch. You know how to find me :).

I would like to say a big Thank You to Busola for the amazing advice. If you are going through a tough time, you might want to give this a try. It helped me big time.
