Year 2013: The Good Bad and Ugly

Happy New Year you wonderful people. Hope 2013 treated you well and may 2014 be full of Happiness, Success and less pain. You and I know that there is no gain without pain.

If you are following me on social media or have been reading my blog, you know that the last couple of months were stressful and depressing. However, year 2013 wasn't all bad and ugly.

My Good Moments of 2013.

Climbing a coconut tree in Goa

Trying to climb a coconut tree and got stuck. I seriously thought, i was going to fall down. My cousins were laughing at me. The holiday was so much fun. I had an amazing time with my family. I'm going back in April, excited and can't wait for April to arrive.

At my brothers Graduation

One of the happiest and proudest moments in my life was seeing my baby brother graduate from Westminster University. I am a proud sister and wish him only the best in his life. This is the outfit that i wore for his Graduation ceremony.

Meeting Fashion blogger Ella Catliff of La Petite Anglaise

I got the chance to meet one of my favourite bloggers, Ella Catliff of La Petite Anglaise. She is a down to earth person and an amazing human being. I am still in touch and she always replies to my messages which is so nice of her. More about  Ella Catliff

Reflecting on the year 2013 and it's good and bad moments

2013 also gave me the chance to attend The London Fashion Weekend and my first opportunity to watch a Catwalk show live. The experience was out of this world. The models were walking few inches away from where i was seating. I was lucky to sit on the FROW(front row) as they say in the Fashion world. I will definiely treasure the experience.

Now to My Bad Moments of 2013

Reflecting on the Year 2013: the bad moments

The bad phase started when my health deteriorated. I visited my GP and the Hospital more this year than in my entire life.

I lost three members of my family including my nan. This is my Nan's grave. May she Rest in Peace.

Work commute became increasingly painful and frustrating. The traffic is like this every single day. There are times when i am tired and want to reach home soon and this has become impossible. 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening is ridiculous and is so not worth it.

Now onto My Ugly Moments of 2013

Fell down and hit the ground

The health, work and other personal issues took a toll on me and i hit the ground and felt lonely and sad.

Things got so ugly that i went into depression. I did not eat, i stopped talking and stayed indoors. I was petrified to leave my room. The fits/seizures got worse. I started getting the body tremors everyday and night. I felt broken and empty, the world came crashing down.
I had no idea what was wrong with me. I wanted to be alone.

Year 2013 also introduced me to you. You have been on this journey with me and never left me. You held my hand every step of the way and encouraged me not to give up. You told me that I am not alone. You shed a tear with me and made me realised that this dark and ugly phase is temporary and will pass by soon.  THANK YOU for being supportive and THANK YOU for standing by me. Even my Laptop gave up on me (blogger disaster, borrowed my brother's laptop) but you stuck by me. I wish you all a very Happy 2014. May all your dreams turn into reality.

Messages from my readers

  2. Oh wow, you managed to do a great job getting up that tree! I would have hardly have gotten off the floor.

I love that dress you wore with the collab, it looks beautiful on you and your hair looks fab! It's great you got to meet your fav blogger too.

I hope this year your health is a lot better and you can be a lot happier!

What type of laptop are you looking for and how much to spend?

I have an Acer one from Tesco - I know people say a lot of bad things about Acer laptop. I had a Fujitsu Siemens one and the battery overheated and melted my mother board, I then had a Toshiba but the battery stopped charging, then I had my first Acer and it lasted 3 years - including my move to France when I was using it constantly! I've had my current Acer for over 2 years now and the battery life is still about 3 hours on a full charge! Have a look around and see what you want to use it for to see what specs you need.

This is the tripod I have: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hama-Star-Tripod-Carry-Case/dp/B000EOMQM2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388860987&sr=8-1&keywords=tripod

Thank you, the dress is one of my favourite as well and I'm keeping my fingers cross, hoping that health wise it will be less stressful

Thank you Corinne. I had a Toshiba and it lasted almost 5 years and I was very happy with it but it's no more. Thinking of Apple, let's see. Thank you for the tripod suggestion. I'm thinking if buying the one you recommended but there's another one so just trying to make up my mind

  4. You know what they say that we need to go through the bad moment, so we can appreciate and enjoy the good ones better. There will always be ups and downs in life, but the quicker you get over a bad moment, the better. Stay strong and positive!

Regarding the laptop, I'd recommend you to stick with Windows7 rather than 8. :)

    1. You are absolutely right, with bad comes good and vice versa. I always believe that things happen for a reason and bad makes way for good but sometimes forget. It's difficult but possible, just got to stay strong and positive like you said

  6. Firstly, best of luck in the National Blogging Comepetion! It's so amazing that you got nominated!
It's not good to hear you have been sick. I understand how it feels having gone through a very scary health struggle myself. You will get better though and that's really important to remember. Also sad to hear about your family memebers. Just another part of living I guess but that doesn't make it any less sad or any easier to deal with.
Hopefully 2014 will be a better year for you. Not just for this blog but your life in general. Life isn't always hard!
Sorry I can't recommend any tripods or laptops I've never bought my own and the one's I have arn't really top of the line *slash* quite old now so I'm not sure they'd even still sell these editions. Good luck finding something good!

  7. Dear Naaj, thanks a lot for this touching post! Life was not really friendly to you in 2013 but you are so good that you wrote about the great things first. I wish you a much better New Year, you deserve this and much much love <3 You are still in my thoughts as you have still a place in my heart.

Regarding your favors, it is a pleasure for me that I already voted for you. At work I have a Lenovo notebook with which I´m really satisfy and at home a Samsung Ultrabook, which was a huge invest but it was it absoutely worth as this Ultrabook is totally silent what is important for me as I need the silence as it is really busy and loud on my workplace in my job.

Wish you further that the traffic will be better. Here in Germany it is the same, it tooks each day longer to get from the country side to Munich and of this cause my lovely husband started a new job which is not in Munich but in a small town and it takes him now only one hour to get to work and not 2 hours than before.

Loads of love my dear friend, wish you a wonderful week and life in general!

  11. Naaj darling, cheers to moving forward and not looking back again!! Just marching on to new beginnings and a healthier life. I may be a little late reading this post but it is never too late to say thank you for all your love, support and getting to know you this past year has been amazing. Glad we met girl :).

Love this post and looking forward to many more in 2014. About the computer thingy, i would suggest you use one that you are comfortable with. Go to an electronic store and just play with what they have on display and talk to someone in their electronics department there. Tell them what you need. Probably one that is good for photos and even come with photo editing tools.

Tripods range from $19.99 to over a hundred dollars. Depending on your budget. I would suggest you read reviews online before purchasing. They often help a lot. I use a cheap one which has been really good but not on those windy days. You don't want to lose a good camera.

    Have a great weekend
